Frequently Asked Questions

Why does TuneRight need microphone permission?
TuneRight needs access to your microphone to hear your instrument and detect its pitch. Without microphone access, the tuner cannot function.

To enable microphone access:
  • Open Settings on your iPhone
  • Scroll down and tap TuneRight
  • Enable Microphone
Your audio is processed entirely on-device and is never recorded or transmitted.
How do I restore my purchases?
If you've previously purchased TuneRight Pro and need to restore it:
  • Open TuneRight
  • Tap any Pro feature (like Guided Tuning or an alternate tuning)
  • On the upgrade screen, tap "Restore Purchases"
Make sure you're signed in with the same Apple ID you used for the original purchase. If you're still having issues, contact us at support@tuneright.app.
The tuner isn't detecting my instrument. What should I do?
Try these troubleshooting steps:
  • Check microphone permission - Make sure TuneRight has access to your microphone in Settings
  • Get closer - Move your instrument closer to your iPhone's microphone
  • Reduce background noise - Find a quieter environment
  • Pluck one string at a time - Multiple notes can confuse pitch detection
  • Let the note ring - Hold the note steady for best detection
How do I cancel my subscription?
Subscriptions are managed through Apple:
  • Open Settings on your iPhone
  • Tap your name at the top
  • Tap Subscriptions
  • Find TuneRight and tap it
  • Tap Cancel Subscription
You'll continue to have Pro access until the end of your current billing period.
