TL;DR: TuneRight processes audio entirely on your device. We don't collect, store, or transmit your audio data. We don't track you. We don't sell your data.

Overview

TuneRight ("we", "our", or "the app") is a guitar tuner application for iOS. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use TuneRight.

Information We Collect

We collect virtually no personal information.

Specifically:

  • Audio Data: TuneRight accesses your device's microphone to detect pitch. This audio is processed entirely on-device in real-time and is never recorded, stored, or transmitted anywhere.
  • Purchase Information: If you purchase TuneRight Pro, the transaction is handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive or store your payment information.
  • App Preferences: Your tuning preferences (selected tuning, reference pitch, tolerance) are stored locally on your device only.

Information We Do NOT Collect

  • Personal identification information (name, email, etc.)
  • Location data
  • Device identifiers for tracking purposes
  • Usage analytics or behavioral data
  • Audio recordings

Microphone Access

TuneRight requires microphone access to function as a tuner. When you grant microphone permission:

  • Audio is processed in real-time to detect pitch frequency
  • Audio is analyzed entirely on your device
  • No audio is ever recorded, stored, or transmitted
  • Processing stops immediately when you leave the app

You can revoke microphone access at any time in your iPhone's Settings. Without microphone access, TuneRight cannot detect pitch.

Third-Party Services

Apple App Store: Purchases and subscriptions are processed by Apple. Apple's privacy policy applies to those transactions. We receive only confirmation that a purchase was made, not your payment details.

No Analytics SDKs: TuneRight does not include any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs.

Data Storage

All app settings and preferences are stored locally on your device using iOS standard storage mechanisms. This data is:

  • Stored only on your device
  • Backed up via iCloud if you have iCloud Backup enabled
  • Deleted if you uninstall the app

Children's Privacy

TuneRight does not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone, including children under 13. The app is suitable for all ages.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
